How Do I Get Started?
When it comes to installing a new fence, it can be difficult to know where to begin. There are so many choices and elements you need to consider, including material, design, cost effectiveness and what’s the ultimate purpose of your new fence. This can be tough if you aren’t fully informed or aware of all the elements that can impact the decision you make. That’s why we’ve created this handy guide, to help answer the age-old question, which we get asked all the time: How Do I Get Started?

Choose A Material
Probably the best place to start is choosing a material for your new fence. Fencing can be done with a wide range of different materials, including metal, vinyl or wood fence, and each has a different advantages and drawbacks that you should probably consider carefully before making a choice. Perhaps certain materials aren’t well suited to the climate you live in or won’t help to achieve what it is you are aiming to do. The choice of material can have a real impact further down the line too, when it comes to things like upkeep and maintenance costs.

Think About Your Aim
Your overall aim is something you also need to consider quite carefully. What are you installing a new fence for? Do you want something that’s simply secure, without any consideration for the look? Or do you want something with real curb appeal to boost the look and feel of your home? Certain types of fences are more secure than others, some can help to give you more privacy, while others can be designed to ensure your view is unobstructed. Your aim will very much impact the work that you will require us to do.

Consider the Space You Have
Whether you are in Kenner, Metairie, River Ridge, New Orleans, St. Rose, Harahan or another neighborhood in the GNO area, the space you have, or lack thereof, is also something you need to factor in. How much space do you have? Is your yard or property even and flat or hilly and undulating? All of this can impact any decisions you need to make. For example certain materials aren’t suitable for anything less than a flat surface, so if you have an uneven yard or property it pays to be aware of this. Some materials, or types of fences, might require more space than you have to installed effectively and do what job you have in mind. This is something you need to take into consideration also.
